About this teddy bear book: Hand-crafted with the unknown guidance of my dear departed mom, my first teddy bear came to be. The entire book project took me 10 years to complete and everything except the printing is hand-crafted including the sewing and gluing for the binding of it. I have dedicated this book to my dear departed mother, Florida Marie (Trudeau) Briand. I'm on Facebook, click this link: http://www.facebook.com/yvettefleming To see my profile you must join. Also, I have a blog - to see the blog click on the link below: It was in a little town called Falher in the province of Alberta that my parents raised seven children, four boys and three girls. I was the seventh child. At seventeen, after graduating from George P. Vanier School in Donnelly, I moved to the beautiful province of British Columbia. In 1983, shortly after moving to the lovely Sunshine Coast, I married Gordon Edward Fleming. My career on the coast has been with the Bank of Montreal but in 1990 my health was a concern. After many tests and seeing many doctors I was diagnosed with Lupus and then in 1992 I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Life was altering! Volunteering, reading, writing and creating became my pastime. So......with that....find below some of my creations. Yvette Marie (Briand) Fleming Excerpt from the book: Being diagnosed with Lupus What was Lupus? I had never heard of Lupus! So they gave me a pamphlet of information and I remember reading: "Cause: UNKNOWN, Symptoms: MANY, May progress to organs or may go into remission." Tears streamed down my face! Thoughts were racing in my mind about how the symptoms could still get worse so who knows what more would happen to me. I was having so much pain it was extremely hard to bear. Of course my hope was clearly on the results of the last word: remission. But what did remission actually mean?........... Excerpts from book: FRANNY - Thinks she's your nanny, It's truly uncanny, She'll sweep the floor, She'll answer the door...... CAREBEAR - Would love a pair, Of mittens, As fluffly as kittens, With dark brown hair, Everywhere, She has a particular flare............. NORMAN's quite a gift, As he's swift, At giving you a lift, Dressed in blue, Who knew, He had a clue, About Kung Fu............ The next Sweet-pea, As you'll agree, Is GORDIE, Full of etiquette, And hard to forget, For he proclaims, Endearing nicknames.............. |
